Well the weather today seemed to keep a few more people in bed as we only had about 24 runners turn up. As we gathered in the Grouse Mountain parking lot getting ready to run to the Lynn Valley Suspension bridge the weather threatened rain and gave everyone the shivers. A little misty for the first 1-1/2 hrs of the run, but it eventually cleared up to a beautiful sunny day. Unfortunately I was only able to run to the meeting place and run in one direction only so my report is a little lean. I'm not sure if anyone did the Lynn Peak add-on, but with the unpredictable weather it would have made sense to skip it this time. Lynn Peak is a steep climb off of the Lynn Loop trail in the Lynn Headwaters park. It takes about an hour to an hour-and-a half to climb from the main trail and is as steep as the grind, but more loose rock with virtually no stairs (cool!) This is an excellent 'un-popular' hill to train on mid-week.
I estimate that the finishing times for today's run was between 2:40 and 3:30.
Next weeks run is Cleveland Dam to Cypress return and should take about 3-4 hrs. See you at the Cleveland dam parking lot at 8 am, rain or shine ;-).
Happy Trails.
