I'll probably jinx it by saying this but once again, the weather on Sunday was great for running. We had nine people show up this week, some regulars and a few others who didn't like what they saw when they looked out the window on Saturday morning. It was a diverse group with everyone from KK rookies to a seasoned 9 time finisher.
We began the familiar Grouse BP section in a group but ended up splitting into two groups about half way to Mountain Hwy - a very fun & pleasant jaunt. Regrouping at Mtn Hwy we descended into Lynn Valley fairly quickly and refueled at the Lynn Headwaters Ranger Station. Kelsey and Dave (not sure if that's his name) decided to head back the same way while the rest of us did a short loop - crossing the Headwaters bridge then to the Pipeline bridge and back on the Varley trail.
We chugged back along the BP catching up to Kelsey and Dave just before the exit gate! In an ironic twist it was the 9 time veteran (I won't mention names!) who veered off the trail for a short time on the way back. He quickly discovered his mistake and caught up to us not too far down the trail. Total time of 3:15 for all, leaving plenty of the sunny afternoon to soak up some rays. Looking forward to some "new" territory next week by heading west on the BP.
Cheers.
