Training Run - June 17, 2001

Curb couldn't make it today, so I was volunteered to do this week's training run report. I'm not sure if I'll be able to do quite the job that he does, but here it goes.

There were 5 humans (Mike, Rob, Rob, Bernie, and myself) and 2 dogs today (Ziggy and Molly). The plan was to start at Cypress and follow the Skyline trail to the BP and then to Deep Cove. Because we were without Curb, Enzo showed up at the Panorama parking lot to organize us, and then graciously drove us up to Cypress (thanks Enzo!).

After doing a few warmup loops around the local Cypress trails (planned of course), we were off and running. It was a fantastic day for running in the trails. We traveled together for a little while, but we unfortunately lost 1 Rob to bad blisters at Cleveland Dam, and we lost Bernie to Ean Jackson. Mike, Rob, Molly, Ziggy and I traveled basically together to Deep Cove. I, unfortunately, was the only person to fall, witnessed only by Mike, thankfully! Good thing he was there though, he dug me out of my "head first down the cliff" position. It was great fun - all told, just under 5 hours.

See you on race day!
