Well as the date draws near to the race start we are noticing an increase of the number of runners hitting the trails. We had about 40 toe the line today.
The start was in blustery conditions as runners ascended the infamous 'Black Mountain' with the end of the first 1/4 being Cypress mtn. The group was met with lots of cloud and mist as they approached Eagle bluff. Snow was minimal but mud was aplenty as we approached the top of the Eagle chair.
We encountered a number of people running the whole course! They rationalized that because they were driving all the way from Chilliwack that they needed to make it worth their while.
To make a long story short it was an excellent run, and all suffered greatly (well some more than others).
See you next week for the last 3/4's. Don't forget your Training Run co-ordinator loves Guinness and the Raven pub is so close to the finish!
Cheers,
