2003 Knee Knacker - Really Last Minute Instructions
July 6th, 2003
Just thought I'd remind everyone of a couple of important procedures for
this coming weekend's event. But before I do, please let me tell you of a
couple of new things you should be aware of this year:
- Pay parking ($5) is now in effect at BC Parks, i.e. Cypress Bowl and Mount
Seymour Road. What this means is that your crew/supporters must purchase
parking tickets at these locations. We are still attempting to get an
exemption from BC Parks for race day, and will let you know if this comes
through in time.
- The Grouse Mountain World Cup Mountain Bike race is taking place the same
day as our race this year. Be especially careful and aware of traffic on Nancy
Greene Way, between Cleveland Dam and the bottom of the Skyride (that lovely 1
mile stretch of pavement that climbs 500 feet between miles 15 and 16).
Now for the nagging reminders:
- There is absolutely NO day-of-race registration. If you have not picked
up your race packet and registered by Friday night (July 11th), you
will not be in the race. Please bring along picture
identification, as we will be attaching a plastic
medical wristband to your wrist once we have correctly
identified you as the registered runner. If you have someone else
picking up your race package, you MUST produce
picture identification prior to the race Saturday
morning.
- Your entry is NOT transferable, i.e. you cannot sell or give it away to
anyone else.
See you very shortly!
