Grouse Mountain to LSCR / Lynn Headwaters, Return
Wow. We had a great turnout again for training on Sunday. With 50 people showing up perhaps it was just a reflection of the incredibly gorgeous, sunny, mild, clear day that we had. Or perhaps it was because they've heard of all the fun we have. Or maybe even it was because it was Mother's day and we were all treating ourselves to a reality break. Or just maybe people are all excited about the really big runs to come in the weeks ahead and are trying to be prepared. Curb and I mentioned a few important things before heading out ... like trail etiquette and other important stuff like how to take a crap in the woods (bury it). Also, the topic of snow came up for future runs. Basically, there isn't enough snow this year to stop us from doing any of the training runs. However, rumour has it that the mud is starting to pile up already so it should be extra fun when we get up to the Cypress Mountain area. Our route took us from Grouse Mountain to the gazebo at LSCR. Many of us then headed up to the Lynn Headwaters bridge and headed back to the BP through the parking lot. Running times varied from 3 to 4 hours with a few taking an extra trip through the Lynn Headwaters trails to add some distance. I've got a few pictures to show you this week and please feel free to identify people or send in your own captions. If you want me to e-mail any of the pictures to you just say the word. If you have your own pics of training runs please send them in. Please go here to see the pictures ... good luck with training and happy trails, |
