Hello fellow trail-runners!

Welcome to the 17th Annual Knee Knackering North Shore Trail Run. I am honoured to be writing this message to you as the new Race Director for KKNSTR 2005. I’d like to extend a huge thank you on behalf of the Kneeknacker Committee to Michael Wardas for his leadership over the last 2 years. After much thought, Mike decided to pass the RD reins along in order to focus on his family, training and ever growing race, The Dirty Duo (www.dirtyduo.com). Thank you Mike for the excellent job. Also, moving on this year is Melissa Pace - thank you Melissa for all of your encouragement, humour, hard work and dedication to the race.

Looking forward to this year, we have many returning committee members and the addition of two new people. The 2005 committee members are:

Please contact any one of us (using the feedback form at http://www.kneeknacker.com/feedback.htm) if you have questions, comments or suggestions.

Additionally, there is a crew of over 200 volunteers that work to make the race a success each year. Without them, it just wouldn’t happen. If you will be entering the race this year, please do your best to recruit a volunteer. If you are a volunteer, thank you.

To keep informed, make sure you check out www.kneeknacker.com regularly – we’ll be posting updates, tips & links to related info along the way.

As many of you may have experienced, the Kneeknacker gets in your blood. I was inspired in 2000 when I watched the race & I signed up for the 2001 lottery within days. Having run the last 4 years, I know the pain and joy the day can bring. I’m thrilled to be taking on this new role and look forward to seeing you on the trails.

Happy Training,
Kelsy Trigg
KKNSTR 2005 Race Director
