1. North up Nancy Greene Way to the Grouse Grind entrance gate.
  2. Through gate (if the gate is closed, you'll have to scramble up the hill from the gravel parking lot) following the Baden Powell trail to the fork with the Grouse Grind trail to the left and the Baden Powell trail continuing straight.
  3. Continue straight on the Baden Powell trail for no more than 50 - 100m to a fork in the trail with the BCMC heading uphill to the left and the Baden Powell trail continuing straight.
  4. Go left and uphill following the BCMC Trail markers.
  5. Follow the BCMC Trail for another 45 to 75 minutes until you arrive at the Grouse Moutain Chalet.

Time-permitting, you can now continue to the peak of Grouse Mountain ...

  1. From the main entrance of the Chalet, head east (Chalet at your back).
  2. You’ll pass by several sets of signs pointing to the Grizzly Bear Habitat, Lumberjack show area, and “Birds in Motion” tourist attractions – follow first set; skip second set; follow third set.  The pathways can be a little confusing here -- stick to as straight a route as possible.
  3. Pass the Lumberjack show area and Grizzly Bear Habitat on left.
  4. The last attraction will be Birds in Motion area on your right.
  5. Follow the gravel road around right flank of the peak.  The road gets very nasty (steep) towards the top but, fortunately, doesn’t last for long.  You're at the top when you reach the "Olympic Express" chairlift.
  6. Retrace your path back to the Chalet.

Take the Gondola down or, if you're still feeling energetic, retrace your path back down the BCMC.  Don't go down the Grouse Grind -- it's dangerous and no longer permitted.
